17 Avril 2012 ETRE et AVOIR (to be and to have)

Bonjour!

We have 5 more classes as follow: April 24

                                                   May 3, 10. 17. and 24. The 24th will be a small potluck, with a short show, handing of diplomas (!!) and hopefully a speech by someone important. :)

We learnt a lot this year and we came to a point where the students can greet someone properly in French, know some basic vocabulary and are beginning to craft sentences. We also have learnt a few fun songs, which help integrate the "music" and rhythm of the language. When everything is forgotten, the songs will remain.

Today, we did the usual rituals: calendar, greeting, questions, counting, alphabet, song on the days of the week, review of body parts and singing Jean-Petit.

We reviewed the verb ETRE and learnt the verb AVOIR.

We applied this new learning to the Emotions: learnt new vocabulary and had to match faces to emotions in French, draw expressions after a prompt, complete sentences and for the more advanced, complete crossword puzzles about emotions.

We had a little time to draw or work on our cursive writing, and then I read Ami-Ami, a fun book about the friendship between a big bad wolf and a gentil petit lapin.
